Overview
Dashing legionnaire Rick O'Connell stumbles upon the hidden ruins of Hamunaptra while in the midst of a battle to claim the area in 1920s Egypt. It has been over three thousand years since former High Priest Imhotep suffered a fate worse than death as a punishment for a forbidden love—along with a curse that guarantees eternal doom upon the world if he is ever awoken.

Horror movies aren’t for everyone. Some aren’t for anyone. But while fright flicks are often freighted with lots of really, really problematic content, some also contain interesting themes, too. Unlike most genres, they have license to deal explicitly with some of the biggest spiritual issues we face: What is evil? What lies in the hereafter? […]

Great!

Amazing film! Well written. Lovable characters. Lots of foreshadowing. Intentional homages (in editing and lighting) to old Middle Eastern adventure type movies. Great feelings all around. And the main girl was independent but perfect! Minor feminist undertones, one could argue. But she was a librarian who used her skills in this area to be useful. She was brave, but also scared at times and let the man save her. There was also hilarious and relatable odd couple interactions between all the different nationalities. That were actually based on REAL LIFE stereotypes of Americans/Arabs/Brits/etc.

Go watch this film again! And pay to do so, so Brendan Frasier makes a come back in Hollywood after being JUSTed.
